Come walk with me

Dit lied wat we laatst met koor zongen sprak me aan, en dan vooral ook de tekst. 
Het gaat ten eerste over God zélf die zegt: 'ga met Mij mee', en die volmaakte vrede en rust kan geven. 

Toch heeft het ook met ons te maken, zoals omschreven in dit citaat:  

I don’t believe that God chose you, and blessed you  
so that you could heap those blessings up upon yourself. 
I believe God chose you, and you, and you, and every one of you others, 
because He wants to make a difference in this world. 

And you know what? 
That He left the Church here, and the Church is the only group of people, and the Church is the only institution in the world
that can bring about a change.
This government cannot do it, so stop depending on the government. 

Educational systems cannot do it, so stop trusting educational systems.
The Church was chosen by God to make a difference. 

'Niet op regeringen vertrouwen', dat sprong er voor mij ook speciaal uit vanwege alles wat er in de wereld gaande is. Maar ook het intellect, dat is het niet.
En dan de clou, die me aan het denken zette, de Gemeente van Christus is de enige groep mensen die een verandering kan brengen en het verschil kan maken. Jezus zei het ook al: Jullie zijn het licht van de wereld en het zout van de aarde.
 
Wij zijn Gods handen en voeten in deze wereld, door anderen 'mee te nemen' en hen Jezus te laten zien. Er voor hen te zijn op hun reis - and make a difference.
En dat mag ons wat kosten, misschien kost het je wel alles.

“Never forget what Jesus did for you. Never take lightly what it cost Him. And never assume that if it cost Him His very life, that it won't also cost you yours.” 

De foto's pasten perfect, ze nodigen je uit om het pad te volgen, en hoeveel beter is het om dat samen te doen. Met God. 
Maar ook met elkaar en speciaal met anderen die wel wat gezelschap en hulp kunnen gebruiken. Die Jezus nodig hebben.
En tegen hen te zeggen:

'Come, walk with me ...'

All that I give you, will make you secure in Me

Light for our journey, the promise of peace

I will lead you on into the Light
